Red River is located in Northern New Mexico. Surrounded by the Carson National Forest with year round accessibility. The Red River, as well as numerous creeks and streams, runs through the town. In summer the population increases to over 1000 as summer residents and tourist join the community. Historically, Red River has been a mining town, cattle/sheep ranching and summer retreat for those wishing to escape the heat. In the 1960’s the Red River Ski Area opened providing recreation for downhill skiers.

The Enchanted Forest Ski Area located on Bobcat Pass provides well maintained trails to cross country skiing and snow shoeing enthusiast. In the summer hikers, bikers and jeep tours explore the many forest trails. In the winter these same trails are enjoyed by snow mobile tours. Located along the New Mexico Enchanted Circle, we are minutes from the Angel Fire Ski Area, the world famous Taos Ski Area, and the Eagle Nest State Park and Lake. In addition to the resort aspect of our community we have an excellent emergency care service, Fire Department, clinic, a Charter School, service providers from electricians to landscape service.
